Marshes Light is a ±22 acre parcel located adjacent to Downtown Manteo, NC.  The site was once home to the Salty Dawg Marina and Quible has been involved in developing the Marshes Light property into the mixed use residential and commercial extension of Downtown Manteo from the beginning.  Quible has worked closely with architects, planners, State and Federal Resource Agencies, archaeologists and the Town of Manteo to permit and transform the once commercial marina into a residential waterfront community that reflects both the heritage and character of Downtown Manteo. We began the project by performing an ASTM Standard Phase I Environmental Site Assessment followed by a Phase II Assessment and subsequent waste oil contamination remediation.  Quible then worked with several planners and architectural firms to develop a land plan acceptable to the Town of Manteo followed by preparation of a SEPA Environmental Assessment.  Quible represented the client at Planning Board and Board of Commissioners Meetings and provided CAMA Major Permitting and an innovative stormwater design.
Today, site construction is underway with two condominium units, Hulcum Dairy House relocated and renovated and a new Harbor Master shed and marina Ships Store.  This project is an example of the diversity that Quible offers developers and municipalities alike who are looking to take blighted, contaminated or underused properties and create communities that we can all be proud of.  Please visit the Marshes Light website found at: www.marsheslight.com
